Evelyne Le Merrer

Management Assistant
I get to travel the world on a daily basis, all in my own mind.

Evelyne Le Merrer has been working for UNIVEG Katopé in France for a number of years.

“I’d say our work atmosphere is friendly and stimulating, the kind of place where you learn a lot on the job. As for me, I’m a management assistant. I manage correspondence and phone calls, make business travel and hotel arrangements, and organise meetings and conferences, including all documents and presentations, for our senior managerial staff.”

Evelyne works for UNIVEG Katopé’s head office in Rungis, in the suburbs of Paris. The office employs a staff of roughly 40, and one of its main activities is packaging and distributing fresh fruit across Europe. “We’re all about mangos, lychees, bananas, pineapples, limes, papayas, apples, pears, etc. As we get our fruit from all over the world, we’re able to supply our customers with most varieties, year round. It’s really amazing to see how things work behind the scenes, from the early stages to when an end user buys a pineapple in the supermarket. And then, of course, there’s the new exotic fruit or variant that we come up with from time to time.”

“As part of my job, I’m in constant contact with colleagues across the globe, from South Africa to Brazil, Peru, the Ivory Coast and Great Britain. This way, I get to travel the world on a daily basis, all in my own mind. UNIVEG Katopé has a bright future ahead of it, with plenty of opportunity for newcomers willing to rise to the challenge. Naturally, you need to be well organised as well as aware of what’s happening in the company and on the market. With so much diversity in our activities, it’s a great place to learn and grow. Not to mention the fabulous team spirit we have here.”
